David Luiz makes incredible gesture behind the scenes after Chelsea's win over Pafos

David Luiz’s return to Chelsea was a rather disappointing one, as he failed to get onto the pitch despite being named on the substitutes’ bench.

Chelsea extend their unbeaten run under Liam Rosenior to two games after a win in the Champions League. But the most important thing was the three points, as that puts the Blues into the top eight, which guarantees them a place in the Round of 16, should they stay there.

Estevao Willian was the standout on the night, despite not playing for over half of the game. But it wasn’t all positive, as the defence looked rather vulnerable at times.

It wasn’t so much the players on the field; it was more the way Rosenior had his defenders set up, with Wesley Fofana being asked to track his player across the pitch, which opened up gaps.

One defender who didn’t make it onto the pitch was David Luiz, who made his return to the club.

David Luiz hands former Chelsea employee a signed shirt

Before the clash between Chelsea and Pafos, David Luiz spoke to the media and stated that he came to Stamford Bridge to give his all for his new club.

As much as we all wanted to see him in action, it just wasn’t meant to be.

And despite him not making it on, he still caught up with some familiar faces at full-time.

After that celebration for PSG in 2015, how do you feel about David Luiz today: Chelsea Legend or just a former player? 🤨

After the match, it came out that Luiz had given a gift to a former Chelsea employee by the name of Brian Pullman. A Pafos shirt signed by the defender (as per Simon Johnson).

It stated, ‘To my good friend Brian, god bless you.’

This sums David Luiz up to a tee. A menace on the field, but as soon as he comes off it, he’s one of the nicest and most caring people in football.
