Rosenior also added that Palmer could start the game against the Eagles.
It is an unrelated issue to the persistent groin injury that has caused him issues throughout this season.
Speaking before the match against Pafos, Rosenior said: “Cole felt a little bit of tightness in his thigh.
“He just misses out, but he should be absolutely fine for Sunday. I’ve got to manage the squad as best as possible and make sure we are fit throughout the season with the sheer amount of games we’ve got in a short space of time.”
Rosenior was then asked after the match for further details on the issue that had kept Palmer out of the squad for the win over Cypriot opposition.
The Chelsea head coach said: “Precautionary. He felt something really, really minor in the game against Brentford.

“It was actually quite early in the game, so credit to him to keep going through it. But I don’t want to risk any players at this stage, especially players of Cole’s quality.
“He has got a really good chance to be involved and start the game on Sunday. We will keep preparing him for that.”
