The Milwaukee Bucks keep on finding themselves in the headlines for mostly one reason:Giannis Antetokounmpo’s situationwith the team. Sure, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player has already said he doesn’t want to get traded, but NBA executives are still seemingly monitoring the situation, as the 2026 trade deadline looms.
If you ask Bill Simmons of The Ringer, one thing “The Greek Freak” can do right now is to just admit that he really wants out of Milwaukee.
“Be honest, just, just ask for the trade. Just do it. The Bucks fans aren’t gonna be mad. The Bucks fans want you to basically do it at this point. Just do it. Just, just go and just ask,” Simmons said in a recent episode of his podcast.

Simmons has a wild suggestion for Giannis Antetokounmpo
It is unlikely for Antetokounmpo to do it after he had said his desire to stick with Milwaukee. It’s just easy for someone like Simmons to urge the future Basketball Hall of Famer to do it.
If anything, Simmons probably just wants to see that happen to see more chaos in Milwaukee and make the landscape in the Eastern Conference much easier for his Boston Celtics. Of course, Simmons is a well-known diehard fan of the Celtics, who won the NBA championship in 2024.
As it stands, Antetokounmpo still has a contract until at least the end of the 2026-27 NBA season, with a player option worth nearly $63 million for the 2027-28 campaign.
And with the Bucks not doing exactly great this season despite the10-time NBA All-Star putting up great numbers every night, the noise about his possible Milwaukee departure could only get louder.
