Jose Mourinho takes a blatant dig at both Chelsea and Man United owners

Jose Mourinho may have left his Premier League days behind, but it seems as if he’s still keeping an eye on what’s going on at Chelsea.

Chelsea had a rather turbulent start to January, as they waved goodbye to Enzo Maresca and went on to steal Liam Rosenior from sister club Strasbourg.

He’s made a positive start to life at Stamford Bridge, picking up three wins in total from his first four games, but many supporters still want to see more.

Who would you rather have as Chelsea manager right now?

There’s no doubt about the morale boost he has given the players, as evidenced by the fact that Liam Delap and others have praised Rosenior since his arrival.

But after winning the UEFA Conference League and the Club World Cup, it’s easy to see why Chelsea supporters were so frustrated with Enzo Maresca’s departure.

And it doesn’t appear that the Blues supporters are the only ones.

Jose Mourinho baffled at big clubs handing roles to unproven managers

Chelsea aren’t the only club with a new manager, as Michael Carrick has taken the reins at Old Trafford and even managed to deliver a derby day win over Manchester City.

However, it appears as if Jose Mourinho isn’t too happy with the way certain owners are making these new managerial decisions.

Speaking before Benfica’s 2-0 loss to Juventus, the former Chelsea boss had this to say (as per Leggo).

“For me, it is a surprise when coaches with no history and no work done have the opportunity to coach the most important teams in the world; this is the real surprise.

“When Milan takes Allegri, when Juventus takes Spalletti or when Roma chooses Gasperini, these are never surprises.”

Does Jose Mourinho have a point?👀

Liam Rosenior’s managerial history

Liam Rosenior’s managerial journey began at Derby County, where he played a crucial role as an assistant and interim manager, stabilising the club during a period of significant financial turmoil.

He then moved to Hull City in late 2022, successfully steering the Tigers away from relegation danger and eventually guiding them to a highly respectable seventh-place finish in the Championship.

Following his departure from Hull, he transitioned to French football with Strasbourg, where he led Ligue 1’s youngest squad to its first European qualification in twenty years.

His success in France ultimately paved the way for his move to Stamford Bridge this month.

John Obi Mikel questions whether Chelsea have hired the right man…😬

And Wayne Rooney has already given Rosenior his full backing, as it continues to become the norm to see young managers being handed opportunities.

But you can’t help but feel he does fall under the same unproven category as Michael Carrick, whose only previous managerial experience was at Middlesbrough and United as caretaker manager before.

But, as Jose Mourinho says, it’s far less of a resume compared to the big names you see jumping from club-to-club nowadays, like the Carlo Ancelotti’s of the world.
