Michael Owen makes bold winner prediction ahead of Arsenal vs Manchester United

Michael Owen has made his prediction for Manchester United's upcoming clash against Premier League leaders Arsenal. The Red Devils travel to the Emirates on Sunday, January 25 to take on Mikel Arteta's side.

Michael Carrick enjoyed a solid start to his second stint at Old Trafford with a 2-0 win against arch rivals Manchester City. The Red Devils absolutely outplayed Pep Guardiola's side and won thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu.

Michael Owen has backed the Red Devils to play a similar game against Arsenal this weekend. He has predicted them to sit back and hit the Gunners on the break with pace. He told the Premier League Productions, via United in Focus:

“Now they’re going to go to Arsenal and it’s going to be pretty similar. hey’re going to be out of possession for a lot of the time. They’re going to be sitting deep. Suits their back four’s back form massively and they’re going to have pace on the attack.”

The pundit added:

“So, actually, this game, I actually fancy Manchester United at the moment against the better teams. I think they really suit sucking up pressure and hitting with pace on the attack."

Owen concluded:

"Now, over time, they’re going to have to develop and beat the lesser teams, let’s say, in the league. But I don’t think they’re going to be scared of going to Arsenal and sitting back and playing to their strengths like they did at the weekend.”

Manchester United will fancy their chances against Mikel Arteta's side who have drawn their last two league games. The Gunners, however, remain at the top of the table with a comfortable seven-point lead over Manchester City.
