A Liverpool Post Office worker was left ‘shaken’ after an attempted ‘armed’ robbery in broad daylight.
At around 11.00am on Wednesday (January 21), Merseyside Police received a report that three males had attempted to take cash from Breck Road Post Office in Anfield.
During the incident, it was reported they were ‘armed with a possible firearm’ and threatened a staff member.
The suspects, who left empty handed, were described as wearing all dark clothing and face coverings. They fled the scene on foot towards a dark coloured Audi that was parked in the Home Bargains car park, at the rear of the post office, before driving away from the area.
In a statement on Wednesday evening, Detective Inspector Paula Jones said: “An investigation is ongoing to find the people responsible and we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“Thankfully the staff member was unharmed, but she was understandably shaken by the incident. To threaten someone who is simply doing their job is appalling and will not be tolerated.
“This attempted robbery occurred during broad daylight so there would have been pedestrians and motorists in the area. If you witnessed anything suspicious or have any information whatsoever about what happened, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.
“Witness and CCTV inquiries are ongoing and we will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of those responsible.”
