Dominik Szoboszlai sent a brutal tongue-in-cheek response to Jeremie Frimpong following Liverpool's comfortable 3-0 win over Marseille in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Arne Slot's side strengthened their position in the league phase top eight, and finishing in said positions will give them one less round of games to play in the knockout stages of the competition.
Szoboszlai had given the Reds the lead with a clever free-kick in the first half, with Frimpong adamant he'd scored the second against the Ligue 1 side. Frimpong showcased some clever play down the right, getting to the byline and poked the ball back across the face of the goal, with it creeping under the Marseille goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli and into the back of the net.
However, the Champions League official goal panel ruled the goal to be an own goal from the Marseille shot stopper, frustrating the Liverpool man.
The Dutch defender took to social media and shared on Instagram a selection of pictures, along with the caption: "That counts as mine right @championsleague? [laughing emoji, crying emoji, football emoji] Very important win. [Flexed bicep emoji]."
However, his Liverpool teammate was having none of it, and Szoboszlai replied: "No it doesn't." Reds supporters were left in hysterics in response to the Reds' midfielder.

Cody Gakpo was on hand to put the result beyond any doubt in added time at the end of the second half, with Slot's men set to face Qarabag FK at Anfield in their final match of the league phase.
Milos Kerkez also took to social media after the game and shared several images with the caption: "Great game in an unbelievable stadium, we keep going. Thanks for great support from out fans."
Hugo Ekitike sent a simple two-word message on Instragam. Upon reflecting on the game, he said: "Good win."
In typical Mohamed Salah fashion, the Egyptian shared a wordless post on X, with two images of him in action in France.
Slot spoke highly of the Egyptian winger who came straight back into the side after more than a month away at the African Cup of Nations on international duty.
The Reds boss said: "It says a lot about how big a professional he is that he can be away for more than a month with a different team and be so fit to play 90 for us after one day’s training.
"He was so close to a goal, it would usually be a goal from him, but it didn’t harm us because we scored three."

On qualifying for the top-eight, Slot said: "It’s very important because we have had to play with the same players because of injuries for most of the season. That could be the reason why we have run out of energy in some of the games when we’ve conceded.
"I don’t think Virgil (van Dijk) has had more than three days off, the same for Ryan (Gravenberch) and others but they constantly show up no matter how many setbacks we’ve had this season. It’s always very difficult to play Marseille because of their passionate fans and the quality of their players, but what makes it even harder is the quality of their manager.
"We were prepared for that. We took the ball off them three or four times in the first half but couldn’t find the player who was completely free, apart from one time and he (Hugo Ekitike) was fractionally offside. On the ball we were controlled but what made the difference this time was that after we had a big chance and hit the post, they had a big chance and put it over: usually this season that goes in.
"But we were able to make it 2-0, 3-0 and so that makes the perception of the game completely different. Against Burnley (Saturday’s 1-1 draw) we created three or four times more than we did tonight but tonight we scored three."
