Arsenal Told To "Stick To Their Principles" As Mikael Silvestre Makes Bold Man United Score Prediction

Arsenal have been told by former defender Mikael Silvestre to “stick to their principles” against Man United this weekend.

The Gunners head into the weekend against Man United in good form, as they come off a 3-1 win against Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night. Mikel Arteta’s side however, are winless in their last two games in the Premier League.

It won’t be an easy game against Man United on Sunday, as the Red Devils look rejuvenated under new interim manager Michael Carrick.

The Red Devils beat rivals Man City 2-0 in their last game, and will hope to cause another upset against Arteta’s side at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Silvestre thinks Arsenal will draw to Man United

It’s a big game for both teams, as Arsenal hope to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League table, and Man United aim to climb into the top four, and a Champions League spot. Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has said he thinks the score will be 2-2 when the two teams meet on Sunday.

He told Esports Insider: “Arsenal must stick to their principles if they’re to get over the line this season and win the Premier League. It’s been working well so far; they’re seven points clear at the top of the table.

“Coming out on top in big games is also what makes a difference. Arsenal have got a huge match against Manchester United this week. They obviously have to win it to get all three points, but it’s also a statement of intent when you beat a rival in a crucial fixture in the Premier League. If you want to be a true champion, you have to have the right attitude going into big games such as this.

“However, given Man United’s result against Manchester City and how they played, I think we could see a score draw at the Emirates.”

The Gunners have injury concerns ahead of United clash

Mikel Arteta does have a couple of injury concerns to deal with ahead of the game on Sunday afternoon, as he has three names who won’t be fit to feature.

Firstly, Piero Hincapie has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, which is an issue, as Arteta had been relying on him heavily in defence recently.

Secondly, Riccardo Calafiori remains out until the end of the month, which means either Jurrien Timber or Myles Lewis-Skelly will play at left-back. Max Dowman has also been ruled out until early February with an ankle issue.
