Here is a roundup of the top Liverpool news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Micky Van De Ven, Dominik Szoboszlai and Anthony Gordon that you guys may have missed…

Reds midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has warned that a new Liverpool contract isn’t guaranteed despite confirming that his agents are now in talks with the Merseysiders about agreeing a new deal.

The 25-year-old has been at the club for a few years now and has really developed into one of Liverpool’s most consistent performers, both for Jurgen Klopp and current boss Arne Slot.

He is more than halfway through a five-year deal after joining LIVERPOOL in 2023, and he says he is happy at the club, but no decision has been made about his long-term future, and has admitted that a new contract is not guaranteed.

“Of course, but there are always talks.

“You guys in the media make a lot for the people (public) and you keep on going because that’s your job but there has been talks but for sure not any decision has been made.

“There is always progress but no decision has been made and I’ll just keep on going every week, every training, giving my best for the team, for the fans. Let’s see what is going to happen in the future.

“I am happy here but you know how football works and that is something everybody has to take into account.”

LIVERPOOL fans are very loyal to the players unless they come out and suggest that a move away could happen if they do not get the terms that are demanded, Szoboszlai is a player that fans love, but they will be shocked at this.

He is pretty much saying that if the right offer does arrive, then he will consider leaving the club and moving on.

He is a quality player that has some big club admirers, so if there is a chance to get him signed up, we are sure that some offers could arrive, especially if the Reds cannot agree a new deal before the summer window.

GORDON PRICE SET

Pundit Mick Brown has told clubs including Arsenal and Liverpool that Anthony Gordon may be available to sign in the summer, as Newcastle may be open to selling the winger.

LIVERPOOL have been talked about alot over the past couple of weeks, as they have constantly been linked with some big players with reports suggesting that Arne Slot may want to add a couple of stars to the side before the close of the transfer window.

Links between the Reds and the England international have resurfaced in the last few weeks or so as Slot looks to further strengthen his formidable attacking options in Merseyside.

Liverpool were mentioned in connection with Gordon last summer, having been said to have expressed an interest along with the likes of Spain star Nico Williams.

Brown told Football Insider that Newcastle are prepared to let Gordon leave at the end of the season if they receive a “big” offer.: “Gordon has been linked to Arsenal in the past,” Brown told Football Insider.

“But if he continues like this the likes of LIVERPOOL and Arsenal for example won’t be interested

“He shares some qualities with Madueke, he’s very direct, wants to get into attacking areas and to get at people, but if you offered me both I would take Madueke.

“For Arsenal, it seems Arteta is happy with the options he’s got out wide at the moment. Madueke, Saka and Martinelli are three very good options, and then you’ve got the likes of Trossard to come in there too, so it’s not a priority.

“They would be taking a risk signing Gordon, because he’s not showing at the moment that he should be playing at the very highest level.

“Plus, it would be an expensive deal for the risk you’d be taking. They’ll weigh up the pros and cons but ultimately I think it’s unlikely.”

LIVERPOOL FAVOURITES FOR VAN DE VEN

Here is the latest Liverpool transfer news and speculation as the Reds are favourites to sign Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven at the end of the current season, according to bookmakers Betfair.

Marc Guehi was a player that LIVERPOOL wanted last summer, he was a payer that they were close to signing, but then Palace put a stop to any possible transfer on the deadline days of the summer window.

This January presented the club with an opportunity to sign Guehi for a bargain £30 million, but instead, the Reds board made the decision to hold off any potential move and wait to sign the England defender at the end of the season for a free.

That delay prompted Manchester City to swoop in and offer Palace the money they wanted, offered Guehi the £200k-a-week wages that he wanted and he is now under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.

That has meant that LIVERPOOL have started eyeing up potential alternatives for Guehi and According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven has emerged as a “genuine” contender to sign for the Anfield side in 2026.

Betfair spokesperson, James Mackie said: “After Liverpool missed out on the signing of Marc Guehi, they may turn their attentions to Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven and he is currently 15/8 favourite to join the reds in the January transfer window.

“If the centre-half was to leave Spurs then other options for the Dutchmen include Real Madrid and Barcelona at 9/2, with Man City a bigger 9/1.”

We have said it before and we will say it again, Van De Ven will be interested in a move to LIVERPOOL and we believe that the Reds will make an offer at the end of the season, he wants to win trophies and he will not do that at Tottenham
