Premier League winner tells Chelsea board he wants London move!

It has been claimed in the media today that Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has decided that he would like to stay in London, and would prefer to make a move to Fulham when he leaves the club.

Sterling has been with CHELSEA for a few seasons now, but he never fulfilled the quality that he showed at Manchester City, and his time at the Bridge has been spent mostly on the bench and shifted out on loan.

And according to Corriere dello Sport, Sterling is now seriously intent on leaving Premier League giants and is looking to resolve a princely contract that has effectively become a “prison” for his career. At 31, the forward is desperate to return to action, and his profile as a versatile attacker appeals to the Napoli hierarchy.

Sterling was a target for the Serie A club during the summer window, and his name has returned to the background as sporting director Giovanni Manna evaluates low-cost opportunities to bolster the squad. However, any move is contingent on Napoli navigating a complex January window defined by strict financial constraints.

However, reports suggest that Sterling’s priority is not chasing silverware abroad, but maintaining stability for his family in the UK. The England international, who has earned 82 caps for his country, is said to have no desire to uproot his life at this stage of his career. Consequently, he has set his sights on remaining in London, say Sky Sports.

IcFootballnews Says…

If Sterling is ready to take a pay-cut, if Fulham are ready to take on a player that is no longer good enough for the Premier League, then this is a match made in heaven. But it may not be the best switch for the Cottagers.

Sterling should move abroad, give himself a fresh challenge, he can no longer compete at the standard that a player of his ability demands, but if he wants this move, CHELSEA will surely be happy to help get it over the line
