The Saudi Pro League are ready to ramp up their efforts to sign Mohamed Salah and Vinicius Jnr in the summer - with their ambitions aid by some notable departures in the Middle East.

For several years the Liverpool star has been linked with a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, but has so far remained at Anfield. There is a growing expectation that his time in the Premier League is nearing its end, but it remains to be seen whether he quits European football.

Saudis other major target is the Real Madrid sensation, who has been involved in contract discussions with the Spanish giants. The league are after some more major coups having eased up on their spending over the past 12 months.

Clubs in the Saudi Pro League will have more opportunities to make highly lucrative offers to marquee players because a number of high profile individuals are seeing their contracts expire.

Sadio Mane, Fabinho, N’Golo Kante and Karim Benzema could all be moved on and that would give the major teams the scope to go out and raid Europe for a big name with the Telegraph reporting Salah and Vinicius Jnr top their list.

One senior source in the Saudi Pro League claimed: “Very important players will finish their contracts in June 2026 and the league will invest in new stars like Salah. My perception is that if it happens it will be the summer and not now.”

Salah had sparked debate over his future with a rant at Leeds in December, where he claimed the club had "thrown him under the bus" and he had no relationship with Arne Slot. Those in Saudi made inquiries about whether the Egyptian may want to move in this window, but were given a firm rejection.

Those in the Middle East are confident it can interest Salah, who was weighing up a move to Al-Ittihad several years ago before he chose to sign a new deal to stay on Merseyside.

Any hopes they have of landing Vinicius may depend on what happens next at Real. They've just axed Xabi Alonso, who had his issues with the Brazilian forward. The next permanent manager could have a huge bearing on whether Vinicius chooses to stay put or wants to cash in on the riches that would be on offer in Saudi Arabia.
