Champions League Team of the Week XI

There is now just one game left in the league phase of the 2025/26 Champions League. As we approach the knockout rounds, who made it into our team of the week?

We saw some big wins for Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, while the likes of Manchester City, PSG and Inter Milan all succumbed to defeat. Only two Premier League players feature in our best XI this time around – can you guess who they are?

GK: Konstantinos Tzolakis

Konstantinos Tzolakis has plenty of work to do when Olympiacos took on Bayer Leverkusen – nonetheless, the Greek shot-stopper was equal to everything that Leverkusen could throw at him.

He made six saves to ensure that Olympiacos maintained their clean sheet – they would eventually run out as 2-0 winners, keeping their playoff dreams alive.

RB: Jurrien Timber

Arsenal ace Jurrien Timber is one of the best defenders in the world at the moment. He can do everything – not only is he well-versed in the art of defending, he is also a menace at the other end of the pitch.

He found Gabriel Jesus for Arsenal’s first goal of the evening against Inter Milan, as the Premier League leaders came away with a 3-1 win.

CB: Cristian Romero

Cristian Romero has no shortage of critics, but he silenced the lot of them with his commanding display against Borussia Dortmund.

The Argentinian international scored Spurs’ first goal of the outing, powering a header into the back of the net, then went on to secure a clean sheet for his team in a 2-0 victory.

CB: Brandon Mechele

Club Brugge had a strong start to their Champions League campaign, then nosedived – however, they were able to claw back a bit of breathing room when they defeated Kairat by a score of 4-1 away from home.

Brandon Mechele was one of Brugge’s stars of the show, scoring their final goal of the game to ensure they would take him the three points.
