The relationship between Jonathan Kuminga and the Warriors has reportedly become toxic as trade talks drag on. With Kuminga repeatedly requesting a move and only a few teams showing interest, Golden State may wait until the deadline to resolve the situation.

According to The Athletic writer Sam Amick on the Hear District, the relationship has become strained after months of trade discussions and repeated requests from the player's side.

"Then you saw ESPN reporting that he made an official trade request. When I checked in this morning, the Warriors basically shrugged and said, 'He's been asking for a trade through his agent every day for the last two months.' That's just how it's been," Amick said. "So yeah, the situation is toxic."

"Still, I'm leaning toward them getting something done. The Kings would really like to get him, and that would likely require a three-team deal. It might go right up to the deadline, and we'll probably see a lot of DNP-CDs for Kuminga between now and then."

Kuminga returned to action on Tuesday after being sidelined for 16 straight games as a coach decision. In the Warriors' 145-127 loss to the Toronto Raptors, the forward scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out two assists in 21 minutes, offering a reminder of his upside despite the ongoing drama.

At this stage, only the Dallas Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings have been consistently linked as teams with genuine interest in Kuminga.

Sacramento appears especially motivated, though any deal would likely need a third team to help structure the trade.

Kuminga's limited role and uneven production have likely impacted his market value. Through 19 games this season, he is averaging 12.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field and 32.1 percent from three.
