Opinion: Four games in and it's clear who's been the best Chelsea player under Liam Rosenior

Liam Rosenior will be pleased with how things are going at Chelsea following his arrival at the club.

After Wednesday night’s victory over Pafos in the Champions League, Chelsea have won three out of the four games that Rosenior has managed.

The Blues lost 3-2 to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup but can still make it to Wembley if they beat their London rivals by two goals in the second leg of their semi-final tie.

Despite losing against Arsenal, Rosenior was very impressed with Enzo Fernandez’s performance that night.

Enzo Fernandez has been Chelsea’s best player since Liam Rosenior’s arrival

Fernandez has also had good games against Brentford in the Premier League and Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup. When you take that into account, it would probably be fair to say that the midfielder has been Chelsea’s top performer under Rosenior.

Fernandez was suffering with illness in the Brentford match, but that did not stop him from putting in a bright performance and contributing to the win.

It was Fernandez’s pressing around Brentford’s box that saw Chelsea win the ball back before Joao Pedro found the back of the net.

Against Charlton, the 25-year-old was able to score himself, albeit from the penalty spot. He also registered an assist that night.

Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be interested in Fernandez, but Rosenior is going to want to keep hold of him, especially after what he has done in his first four games in charge.

Enzo Fernandez shines again against Pafos

Fernandez carried his excellent form under Rosenior so far into Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Pafos.

The Argentina international’s passing was accurate, while he was also able to create a few chances.

As per Sofascore, Fernandez completed 54 out of 59 passes and registered three key passes. On top of that, the World Cup winner had a goal disallowed for a very slight push. In the Premier League, it may have been given.

Overall, you would probably have to say that Cole Palmer and Moises Caicedo are better players than Fernandez, but the former Benfica man is at the top of his game at the moment.
