Raheem Sterling thinks he’s now found the manager who can fix his career after Chelsea nightmare - journalist

Despite the new manager coming into Chelsea, it looks as if there is not going to be another opportunity for Raheem Sterling to save his career at the club.

Liam Rosenior has seemingly offered Axel Disasi a lifeline after his expulsion from first team duties in the first half of the season by including him in first team training.

Rosenior said he would have a conversation with Sterling over his situation, however reports continue to fly that he will be on the move this month.

Napoli have been strongly linked with Sterling, however the previous feeling was that he did not want to leave the Premier League, and ideally remain in London.

Raheem Sterling thinks Marco Silva can save his career

This has brought Chelsea’s West London rivals, Fulham, into the equation, and they have previously been linked with the signing of the winger.

Now, journalist Alex Crook has stated that Sterling believes playing under Marco Silva could be the spark that reignites his career after a nightmare 18 months.

He told TalkSPORT: “I’m told that one of his preferences has always been to go and play for Marco Silva at Fulham. He wants to stay in London.

“He believes that Marco Silva would be a manager to reignite his career, but I think Chelsea are going to have to make it worth his while.

“I think the only way he goes is a permanent deal. He’s not interested, I’m told, in going on loan or certainly wasn’t coming into this window. So, I think there’s going to have to be a bit of negotiation over the remainder of his contract.”

There is talk of Silva leaving Fulham at the end of the season, which will be when his current contract ends.

Clean slate for all under Rosenior

The fact a conversation has taken place between Rosenior and the likes of Sterling and Disasi has suggested that every player has been given a clean slate under the new manager.

This has also fed through into the first team squad. Filip Jorgensen has been handed opportunities again after being mostly benched during Enzo Maresca’s tenure at the club.

The departure of Sterling looks the best solution for everyone right now though, and is a scathing blow from the early months of the new ownership at the club.

It has had an impact on the way they do business since. Big wages are very rarely given out off the bat to new signings, likely stopping them making a number of season-defining signings in the process.
