Pafos manager Albert Celades found himself fielding an unexpected question about David Beckham's ongoing family drama following his team's defeat to Chelsea.
Despite nearly leading the Cypriot side to a remarkable result at Stamford Bridge, Moises Caicedo's goal secured a 1-0 victory for the Blues on Wednesday. However, instead of discussing the match, Celades, who once shared the pitch with Beckham at Real Madrid, was asked about the recent fallout between his former team-mate and son Brooklyn Beckham.
The Beckham clan has been thrust into the spotlight due to a shocking statement released by Brooklyn, in which he levelled several accusations against his parents. The crux of Brooklyn's discontent lies in David and Victoria's alleged attempts to "ruin" his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz, prompting him to feel he had "no choice but to speak... and tell the truth" about the family dispute.
Celades, 50, responded in no uncertain terms that he felt the question was unnecessary. The Spaniard began his career at Barcelona before a five-year stint at Real that overlapped with Beckham's tenure, but he made it clear the question was not pertinent to the game and declined to comment on the family feud.

The retired star is no stranger to victory in west London. That's after he previously led Valencia to triumph against Frank Lampard's Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in 2019.
The former Spain international couldn't count on ex-Chelsea defender David Luiz for Wednesday's match. But he found himself in the spotlight due to a blast from his past involving Beckham Sr.

Brooklyn Beckham made headlines with his claim that Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, had danced provocatively with him at his 2022 wedding. He even went so far as to alleged his mother "hijacked" his first dance with wife Nicola.
Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior managed to avoid such distractions, focusing instead on his team's progress since taking over from Enzo Maresca. Despite securing three wins in his first four games, he admitted he still has work to do to win over the fans.
"I just have to keep focusing on the job, which is try to win as many games as possible," he said. "Yeah, I can't affect what people prejudge me as or prejudge things that are happening."
