Report: Chelsea's stance on Axel Disasi after welcoming him back to first team training

Chelsea have a decision to make when it comes to Axel Disasi, with the centre-back options rather limited at this moment in time.

Axel Disasi was part of the infamous ‘bomb squad’ that was formed under Enzo Mareaca’s watch, but he’s since been taken off the sidelines.

Liam Rosenior has been a positive influence on Disasi, welcoming him back into first-team training after a positive chat behind the scenes.

But there are still doubts over his long-term future at the club.

A centre-back is the main target for Chelsea this month, with Jeremy Jacquet being pursued, so there may be even more competition for the Frenchman.

What could happen with Axel Disasi at Chelsea

Calum McFarlane has been one of the main reasons for the reintroduction of Axel Disasi at Chelsea, having praised his performances in the Under-21s side.

But his future at Chelsea isn’t rubber-stamped. He’s not even in the Champions League squad.

According to the Daily Mail, Disasi could still leave this month, despite being back in training.

He’s not the only one, either, as Raheem Sterling and Tyrique George look set for exits.

Axel Disasi has been offered an exit route at Chelsea

It’s not as if Axel Disasi is stuck at Chelsea, as there have already been enquiries. Both Lyon and Roma have asked about signing Disasi this month, but it’s down to the player and the club now.

We believe that an exit would be the right move.

Chelsea, when fit, have Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah and a potential incoming centre-back, so his game time will be limited.

It just depends now whether the club can agree on an appropriate fee.
