It is the 20th anniversary of Kobe Bryant’s 81-point performance against the Raptors, and Nike has released the “Authentic Association #8 and 24 Los Angeles Lakers jersey” Bryant wore that day, which is now available on the NBA Store.
It is hard to image but it has been 20 years since Kobe Bryant's 81-point game on January 22, 2006. It stands as one of the most impressive individual performances in NBA history, and remains the second-highest point total ever achieved. Facing the Toronto Raptors, Kobe went full Mamba, carrying the Lakers to a comeback victory after trailing by double digits.
As one of the greatest athletes of all time, Bryant’s legacy only grows stronger with time. On days like today, the Lakers legend is always remembered by the entire basketball community, and for good reason. It is not every day someone scores 81 points, and the five-time champions’ career was full of spectacular moments.
To honor the achievement, Nike is dropping a full line of Kobe Bryant apparel, including an “81 Points” edition of the Nike Kobe 1 shoe.
The jerseys are available on the NBA Store’s website, and are a rendition of the “white number 8” jersey Bryant wore on the night of the 81-point game as well as a “number 24” jerseys as well. The 8 s availbel in men’s and youth sizes.
