SGA shooting at a historic clip this season that even Steph Curry never reached

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is posting the highest true shooting percentage ever recorded by a player averaging 30 or more points per game, at 67.3% this season.

After winning the MVP and the NBA Championship last season, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is having another historic campaign in 2025–26.

According to StatMuse tracking, SGA is currently posting a 67.3% true shooting percentage while averaging 32 points per game this season, which is the highest TS% ever recorded by any player averaging 30 or more points per game in NBA history.

Although it will be difficult for SGA to maintain this historic true shooting mark through the end of the season, Stephen Curry posted a 66.9 TS% while averaging 30.1 points per game during the 2015–16 season, the year he won the NBA’s first unanimous MVP award.

SGA currently ranks second in the league in scoring at 32 points per game, while also averaging 4.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists. He is widely considered a favorite to win back-to-back MVP awards.
