The Dallas Mavericks are set to host the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night. Cooper Flagg returned from his ankle injury on Monday and helped the Mavs earn a 114-97 win over the New York Knicks. Flagg is not listed on Thursday's injury report and is expected to be available, but the team is dealing with a plethora of other injury concerns.
Injuries have been a problem for this squad. Dallas has played well in recent action, but in order to find true consistency they will need to overcome the injury absences.
At the moment, the Mavericks are 12th in the Western Conference with an 18-26 record. They are only a game and a half back of an NBA Play-In Tournament position. Competing for a postseason spot is not out of the question, but the injuries won't make things easier.
Kyrie Irving may return in February but an official timeline has yet to be announced. Anthony Davis may possibly be able to return for the end of the season — but there are no guarantees that he won't be traded. Dereck Lively II and Dante Exum are expected to miss the remainder of the season.
