Chelsea are keen to sign a Nottingham Forest player who has failed to convince Sean Dyche of his quality since he arrived at the club.
Forest are set to sign Lorenzo Lucca in the coming days, with the Napoli striker agreeing to a loan move to the City Ground amid a frustrating period under Antonio Conte.
Arnaud Kalimuendo has already signed for Eintracht Frankfurt this month and James McAtee has also been linked with a move away from Forest.
It would appear as though more players might leave in the coming weeks, with Chelsea now looking towards one Forest midfielder as they look to bolster their own ranks before the window closes.

Chelsea want Douglas Luiz on loan
According to The Athletic, Chelsea are considering taking Luiz on loan for the remainder of the season, with Juventus considering recalling the Brazilian from his loan at Forest.
The Reds have an obligation to buy Luiz if he plays in another 15 matches for 45 minutes or longer at Forest, and clearly, the club are uncertain about wanting to do that.
Luiz has struggled for minutes under Dyche, and he’s seemingly preferred Ryan Yates ahead of him when Ibrahim Sangare or Elliot Anderson have been unavailable.
As a result, Juventus are keen to strike a deal with another football club and now it appears as though Chelsea are keen to take over the player’s loan for the rest of the season.
MORE FOREST STORIES
Luiz has made 13 appearances for the Reds since arriving in the summer, although a large number of minutes have come from the bench or in the cup competitions.
Forest making a mistake letting Luiz go
Clearly, Dyche hasn’t fancied Luiz, and in recent weeks, he’s clearly been fit as he’s been on the bench and managed over an hour in the FA Cup.
When Sangare was at the African Cup of Nations, it was frankly farcical that Luiz couldn’t get on the pitch more often than he actually did.

Forest have once again mismanaged a quality player and as an Edu signing, he must be left wondering what the point in his role at the club actually is at the moment.
It’s somewhat telling that he can’t get a game at Forest but is being considered by Champions League-chasing Chelsea for the remainder of the campaign.
Luiz is a quality player, and this whole scenario is a reminder that Forest need a complete reset when it comes to management and recruitment during the summer transfer window.
