After dropping their most recent game to the Phoenix Suns, the Philadelphia 76ers will look to bounce back when they host the Houston Rockets on Thursday night.
Star center Joel Embiid didn’t play in the game against Phoenix as it was the second night of a back-to-back, but the story will be different against Houston.
Joel Embiid ‘probable’ to play against Rockets on Thursday night
Embiid is listed as “probable” on the official injury report for the contest, indicating that he’ll be good to go for the game barring any late setbacks.
Prior to missing the game against Phoenix, Embiid had played in nine out of Philadelphia’s 10 games in the month of January. In the month, the big guy is averaging 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 32.4 minutes per performance.
Heading into the game against Houston, the Sixers sit sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 23-19 record while the Rockets are fourth in the West at 26-15.
The matchup between Philadelphia and Houston will be the first of two meetings between the teams on the season. The Rockets will also host the Sixers in early April.
