Arsenal are in active talks with the camp of Hertha Berlin youngster Kennet Eichhorn, with Andrea Berta leading the discussions, according to a report from The Brief.
Eichhorn has been a surprise package in Europe this season, making a host of senior appearances, despite being just 16 years old. The German wonderkid has played a total of 14 games in all competitions this term, with Hertha plying their trade in the Bundesliga 2.
In the January market, we could see the Gunners focusing their recruitment on signing young players with vast potential, rather than bringing in stars for the first team. Mikel Arteta's side have a comfortable lead at the top of the Premier League, and already have arguably the best squad depth in the division.
Arsenal in Active Talks to Sign Wonderkid

According to a report from The Brief, Arsenal are now in active talks with the representatives of Hertha Berlin youngster Eichhorn, with director Berta leading discussions. The Gunners' interest has been described as 'serious', but they are yet to submit a formal offer to secure his signature.
Bayern Munich are also believed to be keen on the 16-year-old talent, but Arsenal have presented a clear, alternative route outside of Germany. It's understood that Eichhorn's release clause stands at around £13m, which, although it is incredibly expensive for someone so young, it could turn out to be a bargain if he continues developing as he is.
Although Eicchorn is currently a regular for Hertha at senior level, it would be a huge surprise if he were to join Arsenal and continue playing in the first team. That might come into his thinking when he decides whether to leave the German club in the near future.
Berta is Eyeing a 'Special' Talent
Andrea Berta
Berta has been an exciting addition for Arsenal, playing a key role in their recruitment since joining the club. The north London outfit have built a squad which is now leading the Premier League title race, with plenty of depth throughout for Mikel Arteta.
Eichhorn, described as 'special' by talent scout Jacek Kulig, could be the next exciting talent that Berta attempts to bring to the club. His primary focus lately has been on the senior squad, but with Arteta's side looking in strong shape, their priorities could shift to signing young talent from around the world with high potential.
