Despite spending a fortune on several attacking players in the summer, Chelsea are still on the hunt for an attacking addition, it seems.
Liam Delap and Joao Pedro have led the line for Chelsea this season, but neither have really managed to stamp their authority on the team of late.
After assisting three and scoring two in his first four games for the Blues, the hype was huge around Pedro. Especially after his electric Club World Cup.
But his contributions have been sporadic as the season has progressed, which has raised the question about whether Chelsea needs to sign an out-and-out number nine.
However, a central defender is the clear priority this month.
Be honest: If Chelsea land Mateus Mane this month, does he go straight into the XI over Pedro Neto?👀

Julian Alvarez won’t be moving until the summer
TeamTalk claims that Chelsea have held secret talks over potentially signing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez this month.
However, this seems rather unlikely this month, and Arsenal are also watching along.
Fabrizio Romano agrees, as he states in his YouTube video that it is not a topic for January; he will only move in the summer transfer window.
“I wanted to close guys with the many questions we are receiving for Julian Alvarez’s situation. Guys, I keep telling you the future of Julian Alvarez is not a topic for January, it’s a topic for the summer.
“The future of Julian Alvarez remains very open remains a story to follow because on one side, Atletico Madrid wants to keep the player.
“It’s too early to mention clubs because there could be many clubs interested in Julian Alvarez eventually if he can leave Atletico Madrid. But at this stage, the player is keeping his options open.

“Atletico want to keep Julian, but obviously the conversation with Julian will be important to understand if he can really stay or maybe he has to leave in the summer.
“There are many calls from top clubs, that’s for sure. Julian is one of the most wanted strikers around Europe. But in terms of calls, of meetings, it’s not just one club.”
