The 2026 NBA trade deadline has many fans closely watching as top players are linked to moves away from their current teams, and Anthony Davis is one of the biggest names being monitored.
The 10-time NBA All-Star joined the Dallas Mavericks last season after the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade. However, his time in Dallas hasn’t lived up to the hype following being moved from the Los Angeles Lakers.

ESPN insider Shams Charania is now reporting that NBA agent Rich Paul wants Anthony Davis out of Dallas. With the trade deadline looming on Feb. 5, the Mavericks could look to move on from the former NBA champion as the team currently sits 18-26 on the season and 12th place in the Western Conference.
Rich Paul, Anthony Davis’ agent, has told the Mavericks he wants Davis traded by next week, per ESPN.

Davis was ruled out earlier in January when he suffered a hand injury. The Mavericks or another NBA team likely wouldn’t see Anthony Davis return to the court for several months as he deals with the setback.

Some contending teams could look to add Davis to their roster though if they want a boost over the second half of the 2025-26 campaign.
It’s clear that the Mavericks are aiming to build around number one overall pick Cooper Flagg, who has become an instant star. The former Duke talent is averaging nearly 19 points per game during his debut season.
