Pelicans players on trade block revealed

Jose Alvarado, Jordan Poole and Yves Missi are available for trade on the Pelicans' end.

The New Orleans Pelicans are slated to be a key seller in the trade market ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline.

In his latest Substack report, NBA insider Jake Fischer revealed that the Pelicans are entertaining trade talks on Jose Alvarado and Jordan Poole. As such, big man Yves Missi has emerged as their primary candidate among interested teams.

"Combo guard Jordan Poole and the feisty Jose Alvarado are said to feature on that list, but recent first-round pick Yves Missi seems to be generating the greatest interest among the players for which the Pelicans have been testing the market," Fischer wrote.

"Along with our reporting last week that Indiana has called on Missi — as part of the Pacers' ongoing search for front-line reinforcements — I've been advised that the Chicago Bulls are a team that covets Missi."

The Pelicans obtained massive trade interest from Trey Murphy III, Herb Jones and Zion Williamson, but they have been fully committed to the three along with two new budding stars Derik Queen and Jeremiah Fears.

Alvarado has drawn plenty of chatter for both the New York Knicks and a new suitor from the West. He is averaging 7.9 points, 3.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 35 games.

Acquired from the Washington Wizards last offseason, Poole has been struggling to be efficient with just 14.8 points in 37.3 percent shooting.

And upon the emergence of Queen, the 21-year-old Missi is now only playing as a reserve while tallying 5.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in his sophomore season.

Holding the worst record in the Western Conference (10-36), the Pelicans will look to make significant retooling for the long run.
