It was observed that Avdija checked out early in the game with 10:03 remaining in the third quarter. He was later seen wearing a wrap on his back.
The Blazers subsequently announced that he is unavailable to return, ending his night with 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists in 18 minutes.
Before leaving, Avdija was spotted holding his lower back after he got hit by Andrew Wiggins while playing for a defensive possession.
Avdija previously missed three consecutive games due to a lower-back strain, and the injury exit he took against the Heat might be related to it.
