Arsenal are flying high at the top of the Premier League table and a first title in over 20 years is within reach. After Manchester City were beaten by Manchester United last weekend, a golden opportunity emerged to extend their lead at the peak of the division.

However, they couldn't take full advantage against Nottingham Forest in a surprising 0-0 draw, and now attentions turn to their encounter against United on Sunday afternoon. While other clubs might be looking to bolster their squads to move up the table, it's likely to be far more quiet for Arsenal, who have a very settled squad.

Possible ins

Arda Guler

Branded the 'Turkish Lionel Messi' by some fans, Guler signed for Real Madrid in 2023 and became a regular starter under Xabi Alonso. Now that the former Liverpool midfielder has left Los Blancos, it could open up a move for Guler, with Arsenal interested in acquiring his services. A move seems more likely in the summer, however.

Víctor Valdepeñas

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Arsenal are pursuing Real Madrid defender Valdepeñas. He's a left-back that is also able to operate at centre-half and would provide Arteta with further squad depth. Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested.

Jeremy Jacquet

Arsenal have shown interest in 20-year-old Rennes star Jeremy Jacquet, who could also bolster their options in the centre of defence. However, Chelsea appear to have agreed personal terms with the Frenchman, making a move to north London rather than west appear increasingly unlikely.

Possible outs

Ethan Nwaneri

Nwaneri, 18, is in talks to leave Arsenal as the promising talent goes in search of game time. Marseille are interested and a loan deal has been suggested, although there would be no option to buy.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko could leave Arsenal permanently this month in a shock twist. The defender is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest but looks likely to have that temporary move cut short. It had been anticipated Zinchenko would go straight back out on loan to Ajax, but now a cut-price permanent switch to the Dutch capital could be in the offing instead.

Most likely moves in January

In - no one

Out - Zinchenko and Nwaneri
