LeBron James says he doesn't care about the reports concerning either him or the organization, emphasizing that his mindset has always been to bring a championship to the Lakers — which he has accomplished.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James reacted to recent reports involving the Lakers organization and Jeanie Buss.
LeBron said he doesn't care about the reports concerning either him or the organization, emphasizing that his mindset has always been focused on bringing a championship to the Lakers — which he has accomplished.
"Quite frankly, I don't really get involved in that," James stated after the Lakers' 104-112 loss to the Clippers. "I don't really care about the reports. You guys know me — I've been in this league 23 years. There's going to be another article tomorrow, especially involving me."
"My whole mindset was about restoring excellence to this organization," he continued. "Bringing a championship here. That's always been my mindset."
"I don't care about articles, I don't care about stories, I don't care about podcasts and all that type of sh*t. It doesn't bother me. I'm 41 years old and I'm watching golf every day. I don't care how somebody feels about me," LeBron added.
According to ESPN's Baxter Holmes, Lakers governor and now minority owner Jeanie Buss was reportedly so frustrated with James that she privately considered not re-signing him — or even trading him — in 2022, including exploring a potential deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Per ESPN, Buss reportedly grew frustrated with the Lakers star, complaining privately about his outsized ego and the perception that he had single-handedly rescued a struggling franchise upon his arrival in 2018. She allegedly felt that James received more credit than the team's leadership for bringing him to Los Angeles.
"It's really not right, given all the great things LeBron has done for the Lakers, that he has to be pulled into my family drama," Buss told Sam Amick of The Athletic. "To say that it wasn't appreciated is just not true and completely unfair to him."
