Souloukou has ‘requested’ player at Nottingham Forest – Loan with option to buy pursued

Earlier this week, Il Messaggero reported Nottingham Forest’s interest in Kostas Tsimikas.

The left-back has had a bit of a torrid time during his loan at AS Roma. He started against Stuttgart in the Europa League on Thursday, but he has played only 380 minutes in Serie A.

Gian Piero Gasperini has shown limited willingness to use him, and once the manager has made a decision that’s usually that. Wesley, who is a right wing-back by trade, has often been used on the left instead of Tsimikas.

This speaks volumes for his situation, and the Greek has struggled to adapt to a demanding system. ASRomaLive add more to Nottingham Forest’s interest in the full-back.

They claim that Lina Souloukou has ‘requested’ to take the Greece international at City Ground.

As a result, Nottingham Forest are pursuing an initial loan with an option to buy. Tsimikas is expected to return to Liverpool at some point this month. After that, a new destination will be explored for the defender, with Olympiacos previously mentioned as a suitor.

Kostas Tsimikas is wanted by Nottingham Forest

Roma sporting director Ricky Massara is already negotiating Tsimikas’ exit with the Reds. This is largely because Gasperini wants a replacement as soon as possible, with Fiorentina’s Nicolo Fortini a target. The Greek’s departure will free up some funds to help the Giallorossi land the Italian.

Souloukou’s involvement in the deal does make a lot of sense. Before Nottingham Forest, she had a spell at Roma. This can make it easier for Sean Dyche’s side to land Tsimikas, via avenues of communication which are already in place.

The 29-year-old’s Liverpool contract runs out in 2027. This can also play a key role in a switch to the Midlands, and he may move with a view to a permanent transfer.
