The second-placed Blues go into Saturday’s midday match four points better off than the Gunners but with either able to afford slip-ups in their pursuit of the league leaders Manchester City, who are six points ahead of the Blues.

Everton and Brighton kick off the fixtures on Friday, with both having lost their last two matches and the Toffees four points off the bottom while hoping Melissa Lawley is not their sixth player unavailable due to injury.

Sunday sees London City take on Manchester City, basement side Liverpool host fourth-placed Tottenham, sixth faces fifth as Aston Villa play Manchester United, while Leicester City versus West Ham is a meeting of two teams in the bottom four.

First up in Barclays WSL 2 is the early evening game on Saturday, with Portsmouth —five points off the bottom— hosting Birmingham City, who are a similar distance from the top.

Leaders Charlton receive a visit from Newcastle in fourth, bottom-of-the-table Ipswich go up against third-placed Bristol City.

Crystal Palace versus Durham is an early kick-off, Nottingham Forest face Sheffield United over whom they have a four-point advantage, while Sunderland welcome mid-table Southampton.
