"Here We Go!” – Fabrizio Romano Confirms Arsenal Transfer as Champions League Club Targets Second Gunners Star

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that an Arsenal player has left to join a Champions League rival this month.

It has been a quiet transfer window for the Gunners so far this summer, as Mikel Arteta is yet to make any signings, and he has also seen very few exits. However, a couple of Arsenal stars look to be on the way to fellow Champions League clubs.

It was confirmed this week that Ethan Nwaneri has left to join French side Marseille on loan for the rest of the season. The Gunners will hope the young winger can develop further, and get regular game time at the Ligue 1 side.

Furthermore, Oleksandr Zinchenko returned from his loan at Nottingham Forest, after making just five Premier League appearances at the City Ground this season.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Zinchenko’s move to Ajax

Upon returning from Forest, Zinchenko isn’t staying in North London, as Eredivisie side Ajax managed to snap him up on a loan for the rest of the season. The Ukrainian defender will likely leave permanently in the summer.

Romano posted on X: “Ajax verbally agree on deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal, here we go! Agreement in place over loan until June, leaving Nottingham Forest. Zinchenko will fly in next 24h for medical tests in Amsterdam. Ajax will cover his salary.”

Zinchenko will now hope he can reignite his career at the Dutch side, who are currently battling to try and get into the knockout phase of the Champions League.

Norgaard could follow Zinchenko to Ajax

Midfielder Christian Norgaard has not had much game time since joining Arsenal from Brentford in the summer; He’s made just 10 appearances in all competitions, including just three in the Premier League.

It is understood that Ajax are considering a move for the Danish midfielder, to double up on Arsenal players this month.

According to Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf, Ajax are looking into the possibility of signing Norgaard, as they want reinforcements in midfield. Seeing as the midfielder hasn’t had much opportunity at Arsenal, he could be willing to move, and follow Zinchenko.
