Mohamed Salah will be impacted by 'very good' player at Liverpool, says Slot ahead of Bournemouth

Liverpool and Bournemouth face off at the Vitality Stadium in a Premier League clash on Saturday.

Milos Kerkez returns to his former club in fine form, with the Reds on the whole looking much more impressive leading into the game.

Liverpool dominated Marseille last time out, securing a 3-0 win in the Champions League.

Was the Marseille victory a blip, or has Arne Slot finally turned things around at Liverpool?

It’s hard to say, but the mood going into the weekend is much more positive.

Ahead of the tie, Slot held his pre-match press conference on Friday.

The 47-year-old discussed a number of topics in his presser, including the impact Jeremie Frimpong will have on Mohamed Salah.

For several reasons, including injury issues, the duo have hardly played together this season.

However, Salah and Frimpong started and impressed against Marseille, and Slot now thinks the Dutch right-back will impact the 33-year-old this season.

He said: “In the last three or four games he’s shown, even in the last game, taking a 1v1 on that led to a goal, how important that is in modern football.

“To have him available is really nice and really important for us and it not only impacts Mo Salah, it impacts the whole team if you have a good player, and Jeremie is a very good player.”

Liverpool must be wary of Jeremie Frimpong issue

While Salah was away at AFCON, Frimpong started regularly on the wing or at full-back.

It comes on the back of the former Bayer Leverkusen man missing a number of games earlier this season due to injury.

Frimpong has been called ‘superb’ in recent times for his performances, but Liverpool must be careful in how they manage the defender.

Conor Bradley is out for the season, leaving the Dutchman as the Reds’ only natural right-back.

Joe Gomez can cover there, but he’s currently needed at centre-back due to Ibrahima Konate’s absence.

If Frimpong were to pick up an issue, it would greatly diminish the impact of Liverpool’s right-hand side.
