Arne Slot has updated on Federico Chiesa for Liverpool’s trip to Bournemouth, with an otherwise unchanged squad boosted by Calvin Ramsay‘s return.
Chiesa was a late absentee from the squad for Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Marseille, having pulled out of the warmup with an issue picked up in training.
The Italian remains a doubt for the weekend’s clash with Bournemouth in the Premier League, with a late fitness test to determine his involvement.
Ibrahima Konate is also expected to miss out as he mourns the passing of his father, Hamady, while Alexander Isak, Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley have long-term injuries.
Providing an update on Chiesa and the rest of his squad in his pre-match press conference, Slot told reporters: “There was a recovery session yesterday, so we have to wait and see today.
“It’s difficult to say if he is available for Bournemouth. We don’t expect him to be out for long, so it would be 50-50 maybe if he is available for tomorrow.
“For the rest, at this moment in time, no one picked up a knock, no one had a problem after the game.
“But yeah, sometimes when you start training again you can feel something. I expect everyone, all the same players, to be available for tomorrow.”
In Konate’s absence Joe Gomez is set to partner Virgil van Dijk at centre-back again, while Jeremie Frimpong should stay at right-back for what would be his fifth consecutive start.

However with Slot stressing the importance of managing the fitness of both Gomez and Frimpong, it was interesting that he made a point to note the return of Ramsay.
“Calvin Ramsay is of course a player who is not [eligible] for the Champions League and he will be available for the Premier League, so that’s another player to add,” he explained.
The Scot is low down the pecking order at right-back but he remains an option if Gomez, Frimpong or Mohamed Salah are in need of a rest after the win over Marseille.
Slot is unlikely to make many changes for the trip to Bournemouth, though Andy Robertson, Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo may find themselves in contention.
