Preview: Manchester City host Rob Edwards’ side

Wolves have extended their unbeaten Premier League run to four games after a 0-0 draw against Newcastle United last time out.

Not long ago, it would have seemed inevitable that Wolves would not survive and be destined for the drop, and that still may be the case, however, Rod Edwards’ side have gathered more confidence and momentum from their unbeaten run.

Still remaining at the bottom of the Premier League table, Wolves are 14 points from safety with only 16 games left to play, nine of those games include playing the current top-half teams.

Looking at the squad, Mateus Mane continues to be a key player to Wolves as he leads Wolves in goal involvements since December and although relegation looks to be almost confirmed for Wolves, the 18-year-old gives Wolves fans at least one thing to enjoy watching.

Turning attention to the hosts, Manchester City will be desperate to get back to winning ways and will see Wolves as a chance to do just that. Losing to Wolves will make it a third consecutive loss for City.

In fact, in the Premier League, City have drawn three and lost one out of the last four games. Last time in the Premier League, City lost the Manchester Derby as United took all three points in a 2-0 victory over City.

To further add to City’s current pain, they suffered yet another loss during the week on Tuesday evening after losing 3-1 to tournament debutants Bodø/Glimt. In terms of the Champions League, leaving them a lot of work to do to avoid dropping to the playoff places.

Head to head history

Last time Wolves and City met was at the very beginning of the Premier League season back in August with Man City winning very comfortably 4-0.

In fact, City have won four of the last five meetings. Wolves last beat City in 2023 at the Etihad Stadium, which resulted in a 2-1 win, Hwang Hee-Chan scored the winner in the 66th minute.
