Manchester City should be boosted on several fronts for the clash with Wolves

Manchester City were missing eleven players for their 3-1 defeat to Bodø/Glimt earlier this week. Of those eleven players, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Jokso Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Oscar Bobb and Savinho will all miss Manchester City’s must-win Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Matheus Nunes and Nico are also in doubt for the match at the Etihad Stadium. Antoine Semenyo, Marc Guehi and Bernardo Silva will all be available for the match. Three major areas of pitch have reinforcements on the way City.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Matheus Nunes and Nico are highly unlikely to play against Wolves.

Speaking in pre-game press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League fixture against Wolves, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that it is highly unlikely that Nico and Matheus Nunes will return for tomorrow’s match. When asked about their fitness, the City manager said: “*Matheus still has the virus, I don’t know what the doctor will say this afternoon. And Nico, I don’t think so.*”

Pep Guardiola did confirm that Marc Guehi will make his Manchester City debut tomorrow at the Etihad Stadium. When asked about Guehi, he replied: “*Yes. Considering the absence of central defenders it’s really good.*”

Despite a lengthy list of players that are unavailable, Manchester City should have a stronger squad to choose from.

Manchester City have suffered a blow with Matheus Nunes and Nico ruled out of tomorrow’s match. Pep Guardiola’s side still have a lengthy injury list to contend with. Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes, John Stones, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Nico, Savinho and Oscar Bobb will all miss tomorrow’s match against Wolves. But the return of two players, and the debut of Marc Guehl means that the City squad will be a lot stronger than the team that lost to Bodø/Glimt.

Marc Guehi should slot straight into the City starting lineup at centre-back tomorrow. His quality as a player and leadership should be a tremendous boost to the Manchester City defence. Bernardo Silva will likely come into Manchester City’s midfield tomorrow. His leadership and work rate should help lift his team. Antoine Semenyo should start on the right wing, and he will give Manchester City another attacking weapon to unleash. The Ghana international could be a key player tomorrow against Wolves if he fires.

Manchester City’s attack, midfield, and defense should all be bolstered for tomorrow’s clash with Wolves. Having Marc Guehi, Bernardo Silva, and Antoine Semenyo available immediately does this. While Manchester City’s injury list remains sizable, there is better balance to the team with three key players available for selection.
