Report: Chelsea make €40m offer for 5 g/a star who impressed at AFCON

Chelsea have made an offer of around €40m for Trabzonspor and Ivory Coast midfielder Christ Inao Oulaï according to reports.

The Blues were expected to be quiet in January, but their plans have changed and they are looking to bring in a new centre back, and possibly another midfielder.

Chelsea have made Jeremy Jacquet their prime target at centre back, whilst a new midfielder is said to be a priority for the summer.

However, given the injury issues of Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo, Chelsea are exploring bringing a short term option in this month.

Chelsea are said to be exploring a loan move for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz, and the Brazil international would provide much needed cover in the middle of the park.

Christ Inao Oulaï is reportedly attracting interest from Chelsea.

The Blues have been linked with Adam Wharton and Elliot Anderson, but a move for either player will likely be in the summer.

However, it appears another player could be on their radar, and Africafoot have reported the Blues have made an offer of around €40m for Inao Oulaï.

The report adds Galatasaray have made an offer of €20m, but Trabzonspor are looking for €50m for one of their best players, with PSV Eindhoven also interested.

The 19-year-old can play as both as holding midfielder and number eight, and has scored two goals and registered three assists in ten appearances this season.

Romeo Lavia injury worse than first feared?

Lavia got injured at the start of November in the Champions League clash with Qarabag and hasn’t been seen since.

It was reported Lavia would be out for at least a month, but over two months have passed with very little update on the 22-year-old.
