United look like a new team under Michael Carrick, and so, Mikel Arteta will certainly be wary of his opponents on Sunday, but Arsenal do remain the favourites.
The Gunners are in good form too, they come off a 3-1 win against Inter in the Champions League, which secured their spot in the knockout round of the competition. See below our predicted XI for the game on Sunday…
Timber starts at left-back over Lewis-Skelly
GK – David Raya – Raya will have a difficult task of trying to keep the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo quiet.
LB – Jurrien Timber – Timber has been starting at left-back whilst Riccardo Calafiori has been injured, rather than Lewis-Skelly starting there.
CB – Gabriel – The Brazil international has been superb this season, and he will hope for another top performance against United this weekend.
CB – William Saliba – Saliba had a role to play in Ethan Nwaneri’s move to Marseille, but he remains firmly an Arsenal player.
RB – Ben White – As Timber is playing at left-back, White comes into the side to start in the right-back role.
Arteta picks his best Arsenal midfield
CM – Martin Zubimendi –Zubimendi keeps his place in the starting XI, making his 23rd Premier League appearance for the Gunners.
CM – Declan Rice – Rice was rested against Inter during the week, and so the England international would expect to start on Sunday.
CAM – Martin Odegaard – Odegaard was also rested in favour of Eberechi Eze, so he should be back in line for the Gunners this weekend.
Gabriel Jesus replaces Gyokeres up front
LW – Leandro Trossard – Arteta has trusted Trossard in the bigger games rather than Gabriel Martinelli.
RW – Bukayo Saka – Saka should expect to start every big Premier League game, he could do with a goal at the moment though.
ST – Gabriel Jesus –Jesus scored twice against Inter, so gets the start over Gyokeres, who did score one goal in midweek.
