Fabrizio Romano has confirmed an 'official bid' as Liverpool are locked in advanced talks. An agreement seems close.
Liverpool have been quiet in the January transfer window but things might be about to kick off. There's only a week to go, mind.
We all went into this window thinking the Reds would do something. Maybe that was at centre-back, maybe it was on the wing - both Marc Guehi and Antoine Semenyo were heavily linked.
Both ended up at Manchester City, of course. Something that does actually lend credence to the Liverpool links, even if the Reds missed out.
But even with outgoings, everyone expected some movement. Federico Chiesa, for instance, is consistently linked with a return to Italy.
That now looks unlikely and instead, it's a teammate of his who's now set to leave before the window shuts.
Andy Robertson to Tottenham Hotspur
The Athletic reported on Friday that Tottenham Hotspur were in talks with Liverpool over Andy Robertson. Robertson's contract expires at the end of the season and it appears the Reds are open to cashing in while they still can.
And things are moving quickly, too. Now Fabrizio Romano has weight in, confirming there's been an official bid from Spurs and that the parties are in 'advanced talks'.
"Tottenham sent official bid for Andy Robertson as Liverpool and Spurs are in advanced talks for the left back," he wrote on Twitter.
