A young Pelicans fan asked Jordan Poole what it was like to get punched by Draymond Green

A young New Orleans Pelicans fan had the opportunity to ask two NBA starters anything, and he took full advantage of his opportunity.

A video made the rounds on social media Thursday night, showing three children sitting around a table as Trey Murphy III and Jordan Poole walked in.

“Who was your favorite teammate when you used to play for Golden State?” the young fan asked Poole.

The Pelicans guard said center Kevon Looney because he’s still his teammate now in New Orleans. He added that Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins are all still cool guys.

“You used to watch me when I was in Golden State?” Poole asked the young fan.

The fan ignored Poole’s question to ask his follow-up.

“But how did you feel when Draymond punched you?” the fan asked.

There was a collective gasp in the room, while the camerawoman recording the interaction said, “Oh my.”

Poole answered immediately.

“It was tough, bro,” Poole said.

The young fan was referring to a viral altercation that happened during a Warriors practice in 2022. Green punched then-teammate Poole in the face, and someone in the facility leaked the footage to TMZ. Poole was eventually traded from the 2022 NBA champions to the Washington Wizards for Chris Paul in June 2023.

The fan’s mom posted the clip on her @thechurenmommy TikTok page.

"He loves Jordan Poole, watches videos of him, and unfortunately he saw the punch," the mother posted in a caption on TikTok.

She posted another TikTok of the young student at the Pelicans practice facility where he took a photo with guard Jose Alvarado and hugged Murphy.

“Got dang, you tall!” He said to the 6-foot-8 Murphy as they embraced.
