Since winning the 2024/25 Premier League title, Arne Slot has struggled to get a tune out of this Liverpool team.
The possibility of the Reds going back-to-back this term faded a long time ago, with a top-four finish now the best supporters can hope for.
Amid such a sharp decline, which included a historically bad run of form earlier this season (nine defeats in 12), Liverpool fans aren’t happy with Slot.

Jamie Carragher unhappy with treatment of Arne Slot from Liverpool fans
Now, Jamie Carragher has weighed in on the treatment of Slot from fans this term.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Overlap Fan Debate, the former centre-back expressed his anger towards what is being said about the manager on social media.
He said: “I must tell you where I stand a little bit on the manager. I’m getting a little bit wound up looking at social, and I know social media is not something you should always sort of a barometer of what every fan thinks, but I feel there’s a real disrespect towards the manager on social media from Liverpool supporters.

The simple reason fans are angry with Arne Slot
Carragher is, of course, right to suggest some of the comments aimed at Slot are disrespectful.
Social media can be a horrible place, and some things said about the manager can go too far.
But the general feeling that a change is needed at some point is by no means an out-of-the-ordinary thing to suggest.
Yes, the mood has now improved after a much better showing against Marseille in the Champions League this week, but if Liverpool revert to type against Bournemouth, fan ire is expected to return.
Slot’s team have been called ‘boring’ this season, and it’s hard to argue based on the last few months.
The Dutchman tried to stop the Reds leaking goals by setting up in a more defensive shape, which worked to some effect.
But it has greatly limited the impact in the final third, and up until this week, Liverpool’s performances were a tough watch.
This, of course, comes after nearly a decade of watching Jurgen Klopp’s ‘heavy metal’ football, which, even when results were poor, was a lot more pleasing on the eye.
Granted, how a team plays is not important in the grand scheme of things, but the poor showings coupled with questionable results against the likes of Burnley, Leeds United and Fulham has led to backlash aimed at the manager.
