The winter transfer window is entering its final stages, with just over a week remaining for clubs to complete deals. Liverpool have seen little activity so far, but that could change before the February 2 deadline.
Defensive concerns have linked the Reds with Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven, though Thomas Frank has played down the likelihood of the Dutchman leaving, stressing that securing him to a new contract should be a priority for Spurs.
Liverpool also appear set to miss out on Sheffield Wednesday’s Yisa Alao, with Chelsea reportedly reaching an agreement for the talented full-back. Elsewhere, the Reds are keeping an eye on Bundesliga duo Yan Diomande and Said El Mala as they explore long-term attacking options.
Tottenham have made a surprise move to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool, while the Reds are set to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan at AS Roma. Tsimikas moved to AS Roma on a season-long loan in August, following Liverpool’s summer signing of Milos Kerkez.
According to Liverpool Echo, the Premier League champions are weighing up another loan move for Lewis Koumas, with the expectation that his spell at Birmingham City could be cut short. The 20-year-old has played 25 games this season, scoring his first goal in a 3-2 win over Coventry City, and has started the last three league matches.
Birmingham, partly owned by Tom Brady, have strengthened with August Priske and Ibrahim Osman, prompting Liverpool to anticipate Koumas’ return. Koumas could be loaned out again, potentially to another Championship club, as he seeks regular game time to boost his Wales international prospects ahead of World Cup play-offs in March.
Koumas came through Liverpool’s academy, scored on his senior debut in the FA Cup against Southampton in February 2024, and was on the bench for the League Cup final win over Chelsea.
