Former NBA star Lamar Odom reached 105 mph before being arrested for DUI, officials say

LAS VEGAS ([KVVU](https://www.fox5vegas.com/2026/01/22/report-lamar-odom-fails-field-sobriety-test-arrested-dui/)/Gray News) - Former NBA star Lamar Odom allegedly reached at least 105 mph before he was arrested for a DUI in Las Vegas, according to officials.

On Jan. 17 around 2 a.m., a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper found a Dodge Durango driving on the freeway.

Officials said the trooper initially estimated the car’s speed at about 90 mph. The trooper then accelerated to about 105 mph to catch up.

The arrest report states that Odom allegedly maintained his speed, moved lanes without a signal, then signaled in both directions without switching lanes.

The trooper believed Odom was unaware the patrol car was directly behind him, even with its sirens on. Eventually, Odom finally came to a stop.

Odom was traveling with an unidentified man in the passenger seat. The officer said the two men had bloodshot and watery eyes.

According to the arrest report, the trooper said a significant odor of marijuana was coming from the car.

Court documents say Odom told the officer he was speeding because he was on the phone with his manager and was almost home.

The arrest report revealed that Odom failed the field sobriety test.

Odom was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center around 3 a.m. for DUI, driving 41 mph over the posted speed limit and unsafely changing lanes.

Odom is set to appear in court March 17.
