Liverpool have until the deadline on Monday 2nd February to complete any final deals

Liverpool have the opportunity to bring in some fresh faces over the next couple of weeks. They have the chance to freshen up their ranks before the end of the January transfer window. The Merseyside outfit will also be able to offload some players if needed.

The Reds are sat in 4th place in the Premier League table above Manchester United after 22 fixtures. They are in the top four along with Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa. Arne Slot’s side are back in action this weekend with an away trip to AFC Bournemouth.

Liverpool should loan out Trey Nyoni

Liverpool should consider a loan exit for Trey Nyoni before the deadline on Monday 2nd February. The youngster could do with getting some regular football under his belt between now and the end of the season. He would benefit from getting some experience under his belt to boost his development.

Nyoni, 18, would be a decent pick-up for a team in the Championship. He is good on the ball and has a lot of potential. The teenager was born in Reading and started his career on the books at Leicester City.

The Reds swooped in for him in 2023 and he has since been a regular for them at various different youth levels. He played for their U18s at the age of just 15 and started training with the senior team in 2023 under Jurgen Klopp. The England youth international then made his first-team debut aged 16 against Southampton in the FA Cup, becoming the youngest ever player to feature in the competition in the process.

Liverpool prospect Trey Nyoni would benefit from loan exit

Liverpool handed Nyoni his first professional contract in October 2024. He is highly rated by the top flight giants and has a bright future ahead of him. However, they can’t offer him regular game time at this moment in time and according to a recent report by TEAMtalk, they have been mulling over a possible exit.

The prospect has made 11 appearances for them to date, five of which have come this term. There is no doubt that he will be a big player for the Reds down the line. For now though, a temporary departure would be the most sensible move for him and would allow him to sink his teeth into a new challenge somewhere else.

Soon after his appointment at Liverpool, Slot gave him some minutes during his first pre-season after he was picked as Klopp’s replacement. At the time, he had this to say about Nyoni, as per BBC Sport: "Trey did well, he was involved in the goal with a spot on pass between the lines and he was involved in our biggest chance in the second half.

"But he's only just turned 17 and his body still has to grow. We are really careful with him. He doesn't join every session. You can see his quality. He needs some time to grow to play at Premier League level but he's an interesting player."
