Trent Alexander-Arnold’s time at Real Madrid has been far from a dream transfer. The England defender joined the Spanish giants on a permanent deal in the summer at the end of his contract at Anfield.
But it has proven to be slightly frustrating for Alexander-Arnold so far. The 27-year-old has been limited to just 11 appearances so far, with injuries keeping him on the sidelines for a large chunk of the campaign.
His spell at the Bernabeu took a fresh turn this week, with reports from Spain suggesting that current boss Alvaro Arbeloa had told the defender that he might be best served leaving the club.
Liverpool
This could be quite a controversial one given the criticism that Alexander-Arnold faced when deciding to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid. Fans were understandably left disgruntled by his exit so it remains to be seen whether he has burned his bridges at Anfield.
But there is no doubt that he would be a brilliant addition for the Reds. Again, whether Liverpool would be willing to bring him back - it’s hard to say.

Manchester City
Away from his former club, there are no doubt plenty of clubs in the Premier League who would love to have Alexander-Arnold’s talents in their side, but only a limited number who would be able to afford a move. Chief among those sides is Manchester City, who have already invested huge amounts in January with the signings of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi.
Pep Guardiola has Rico Lewis and Matheus Nunes as his right-back options right now, albeit Alexander-Arnold is a step up on both of them. Any move would certainly depend on the defender opting to sign for one of Liverpool’s modern day rivals and the question remains over whether he would be willing to do t
Bayern Munich
Looking at clubs who actually need right-backs, German champions Bayern Munich may certainly be up there. All of their current right-sided defenders are ruled out through injury, while Sacha Boey has been allowed to leave the Allianz Arena.
Should they make a move, Bayern would be adding another glittering star to their already stunning squad. And should they do that, it could instantly make them favourites for the Champions League.

Paris Saint-Germain
While French giants PSG are well stocked at right-back, with arguably one of the best defenders in world football at the club in the form of Achraf Hakimi, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Ligue 1 champions add to their options.
Alexander-Arnold would certainly fit the bill as a star-studded arrival. PSG would also be more than capable of paying any fee and wages that Alexander-Arnold would demand.
Saudi Arabia
This one is slightly cheating but a move to the Middle East would seem an obvious move for Alexander-Arnold given the lofty financials of any deal. He would be joining a host of former Liverpool teammates in Saudi including Darwin Nunez, Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum.
He might want to remain in Europe, which could prove decisive but a move to Saudi Arabia would be an option should he express an interest.
