Grizz drop home game to Pelicans

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Grizzlies dropped a tough bout to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.

The Pelicans had two starters score 30+ (Trey Murphy 32, Saddiq Bey 36) in the 133-127 win.

Three Grizzlies tallied double-doubles in Jaren Jackson Jr. (26 points, 12 rebounds), Jock Landale (24 points, 11 rebounds) and Cam Spencer (21 points, 11 rebounds).

The game was tight through three quarters, but the Grizz surrendered a late lead as the Pelicans scored 40 points in the final 12 minutes to seal it.

The Grizzlies drop to 18-24 on the season and stand as the 12th seed in the Western Conference.

Their next game comes against the Denver Nuggets. That game will be live from Memphis on Action News 5 on Sunday, January 25 at 2:30 p.m.
