Everton have the chance to freshen up their squad before the end of the January transfer window

Everton are back in Premier League action on Monday night with a home clash against Leeds United. They head into their upcoming game off the back of their 1-0 win away at Aston Villa. Thierno Barry got their goal at Villa Park.

The Toffees are sat in 10th place in the table after 22 fixtures. They are only four points off the top four behind rivals Liverpool. Here is a look at how their starting XI could look after January if the rumours are true...

Everton’s starting XI if the rumours are true: goalkeeper and defence

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

Full-backs: Ben White, Vitaliy Mykolenko

Centre-backs: James Tarkowski, Tiago Gabriel

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will keep his place in their team along with reliable defenders James Tarkowski and Vitaliy Mykolenko. Football Insider have reported this winter that they are keen on Arsenal right-back Ben White. The ex-Brighton and Hove Albion man has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium and his long-term future with the Gunners is up in the air between now and the deadline on Monday 2nd February.

The Toffees have also been linked with a move for Lecce centre-back Tiago Gabriel, via reporter Rudy Galleti. If he joined, he would battle it out with the likes of Michael Keane and Jake O’Brien for minutes alongside Tarkowski. The 21-year-old joined his current club just over 12 months ago and has since become one of their most prized assets.

Everton’s starting XI if the rumours are true: midfield and attack

Midfielders: James Garner, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Wingers: Jack Grealish, Patrick Wimmer

Striker: Wilson Isidor, Youssef En-Nesyri

James Garner is out of contract at the end of this campaign and is due to become a free agent in June as things. Everton will be praying that he puts pen-to-paper on an extension at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. He has caught the eye in the middle of the park along with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Wimmer, 24, is an Austria international with 28 caps under his belt. He made the switch to the Volkswagen Arena in 2022 following spells at Rapid Wien and Arminia Bielefeld. The pacey wideman has since become a key player for the Bundesliga club but they could face a battle to keep hold of him.

Everton could do with some more firepower up top and competition for Barry and Beto. With that in mind, they have enquired about the availability of Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor, claim The Mirror. He helped the Black Cats gain promotion from the Championship last term but he is in limbo now.

Moyes is also said to be an admirer of Fenerbahce attacker Youssef En-Nesyri. The Daily Mail claim the Toffees want him but they face competition. He has had stints in the past at Malaga, Leganes and Sevilla.
