Liverpool's transfer window activity heated up on Friday, with discussions beginning over a potential move for Andy Robertson. The Scotland international might be heading to Tottenham with just over a week left of the transfer window.
Robertson, whose contract expires this summer, along with Ibrahima Konate, could now generate a fee for the Reds if they strike a deal with Spurs. The defender's imminent departure doesn't quite align with Arne Slot's view of the market's final days, but Robertson has slipped behind Milos Kerkez in the squad hierarchy.
"That is what I expect," Slot conceded when questioned about the likelihood of a quiet transfer window. "But I always say when there is an opportunity in the market where we think we can strengthen the squad this club will always try to do so. But at this moment I expect it to stay mainly the same."
Whether the move goes ahead remains to be seen, as does Liverpool's response to losing one of their key players of the past decade. With that in mind, we examine the latest transfer news and rumours surrounding Liverpool.
Liverpool take step to recall Tsimikas
According to talkSPORT, Liverpool are considering recalling Kostas Tsimikas from his loan spell at Roma. The return of the Greek defender would pave the way for Andy Robertson to make the switch to Tottenham.
There is understood to be no recall option in his loan agreement, though, and discussions are expected to 'accelerate' to bring the arrangement to an early end. Tsimikas moved to Roma on a season-long loan following Milos Kerkez's summer arrival at Liverpool.
The defender has featured 16 times in all competitions for Roma and is believed to be eager to make his way back to Anfield.

Saudi targets
Mo Salah features on the Saudi Pro League's extensive 50-player wishlist as they prepare to make their mark in the summer transfer window.
The league is aiming to bolster its squads once more, having already attracted Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Neymar and Sadio Mane since 2022. Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli, Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes and Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior are all under consideration.
Salah is being pursued by Al-Hilal, Neom and Al-Qadsiah but Liverpool have made it clear the Egyptian will not be departing in January. Saudi Pro League sporting director Michael Emenalo is reported to have a longstanding connection with Salah and would be instrumental in orchestrating any transfer.
