Mikel Arteta will be way of Man United though, as the Red Devils managed to beat Man City 2-0 in their last match, in what was an inspired performance under interim boss Carrick at Old Trafford.
Both sides have a few injury concerns ahead of the game, as they could both be missing three players, but who are those names, and how likely are they to play?
Man United injury news
Man United have already had two players ruled out of their team ahead of the Arsenal clash on Sunday, with one name a potential to return.
Firstly, striker Joshua Zirkzee won’t be available to Carrick, as the Dutchman is dealing with a knock which should keep him out for a couple of weeks. He isn’t expected to return until next month.
Matthijs De Ligt has also been ruled out, as he has been side-lined since early December with a lower back issue. Carrick said last week: “Matthijs has been carrying a bit of an issue, but hopefully, we’ll get him back in some time soon. It’s been a little bit slower than what they thought previously.”
Finally, Noussair Mazraoui is a doubt, as he is dealing with a knock that he picked up whilst he was away at AFCON, so is currently being assessed ahead of Sunday’s clash.

Arsenal injury news
The Gunners have seen two players ruled out as things stand, with one name in doubt ahead of the Man United clash. Firstly, Max Dowman is dealing with an ankle injury, and looks set to be out until mid-February at the earliest.
Defender Riccardo Calafiori has also been ruled out of the Man United game, as he is still dealing with a leg injury that he picked up at the end of December. Arteta said last week: “He is progressing, but we don’t know. I think it will be a matter of a few weeks, probably. We don’t know exactly when.”
Finally, centre-back Piero Hincapie is a doubt for Sunday because of a hamstring injury. He is currently being assessed, and Arteta will hope the Ecuadorian will be able to make a return this weekend.
