Chelsea are considering signing Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz on loan for the rest of the season.
The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest from Juventus, but he has struggled for game time, and has only made 13 appearances since joining them last August. Forest also have the option to buy him for around £25 million even if he does not make that number.
His deal with Forest includes an obligation to buy, but that is predicated on the number of appearances he makes.
He has got plenty of Premier League experience, having signed for Juventus having previously played for Aston Villa.
Although Chelsea have a number of midfield options available to them, Dario Essugo and Romeo Lavia have both struggled with injuries, whilst Andriy Santos is still regarded as raw.
Adding Luiz to the squad should add depth, quality and experience to the midfield, as they continue to challenge for honours on four fronts.
